Finding a Space

Choose to View spaces for SALE or for RENT from the main menu at the top of the page.

All available spaces will be displayed by default. You can filter these spaces with the Search filter on the left of the screen. Choose as few or as many search criteria as you wish and click the Filter Results button.

Viewing a Space

You can view full details of any space by clicking the title, image, or details button.

The full details page will show attributes, descriptions, images, documents and a map of the chosen space (some spaces may have less detail than others).

Contact the owner

If you are interested in learning more about a space, you can use the contact form to get in touch with the vendor or landlord of the space. Click the contact button and fill in the form. To prevent spam, we have added a security code to this form. If you are logged in to the site you will not have to enter the security code.

Register / Log in

Registering with us is simple. Simply complete the form in as much detail as possible and click the button. Please ensure the email address you enter is correct, as will send instructions on how to complete your registration to that email address. Please follow the instructions in this email to activate your account.

Once your account has been activated, you are free to use all the features of the site.

Forgotten Password

If you have forgotten your password, we can reset it for you. All you need to do is enter you email address when prompted, and we will send instructions to your email address on how to reset your password.

Saved Searches

You can save as many searches as you wish. First perform a search, entering the desired search criteria. Then click "Save search" at the bottom of the search results. You will be asked to log in (if you are not already), and then to give your saved search a title.

Each saved search can have updates by email. When active, any new property added to the site that match your search criteria will be emailed to you as soon as it is added. You can view and manage your saved searches in your account area.

Shortlists

A shortlist is a selection of properties you are be interested in. You can add as many properties to your shortlist as you like. Simply tick the Add to shortlist tick box on any spaces you are interested in. If you are logged in, your shortlist will be saved for you.

You can also share your shortlist with others. This creates a permanent record of your shortlist, assigns it a URL and lets you send that URL to your friend or colleagues by numerous methods such as email, facebook and twitter. You can view your share shortlists in your account area.

My Account

The My Account area lets you maintain all your own data within the site.

Add a space

Adding your space to SpaceMarket is quick, easy and free. Before you start there are some things you will need....

 

The Add a space system has been split into 5 easy steps:

1: Details

Select if this space is going to be For Sale, or For Rent

Choose what type of space you are listing from the available options. If your type of space is not listed, please contact us.

Enter the full postcode of your space. If you do not know the postcode, or your space does not have one, please enter the first part of the postcode for the locality. Out system will attempt to match the postcode your provide with a database of UK postcodes, and we will populate the Town and Region fields for you if we can. You are free to change these if they are inaccurate.

Complete the address fields. Please note that all of these details will be visible to the general public

Enter the approximate gross internal area and select if you are entering it in square feet tor square metres.

Enter the ratable value of the space. If you need help with this, please click the help icon to visit the Valuation Office Agency web site

Finally enter the price. If you are adding a space for sale, this is the full asking price. If you are enter a space for rent, this is the weekly or monthly rate – please choose relevant period from the options provided.

2: Description

Please describe your space in as much detail as possible. The more detailed your description, the more visible your space will be. Please enter any specifics such as features, current usage, condition, location and vicinity to amenities such as transport links, services and so on.

3: Map

Our system will attempt to place the map marker on a spot as close to the address you specified in step 1 as possible, but it might not be quite right. You can drag the marker to the exact location. You may wish to zoom out to see a broader area, and then drag the marker to the correct position.

4: Images

You can add as many images and other related document to your listing as you wish. As with descriptions, the more detail you supply, the more visible your space will be. We accept various image formats (JPG, GIF and PNG) and we also accept PDF files for any related documents you may wish to include. All of these files will be visible to the general public so please take care not to reveal any sensitive of person details.

5: Preview

You will now see a preview of how you space will look to the public. You can edit any of the details here. You can save this space as a draft if you want to come back it to later. Or you can publish it which will make it instantly visible on the web site.

 

Your spaces will remain active for 60 days, after which time the listing will expire. You can renew your listing at any time within the 60 day period to extend it to 60 days in the future from that date. If you property expires, it will be hidden from the web site but will remain in your account and can be renewed at any time.
